With micro calcium hydroxyapatite from grass-fed bovine bones, xylitol, baking soda, and bentonite clay, your teeth will stay healthy and clean.

Remineralizing effect

Micro-calcium hydroxyapatite is related to the mineral of which tooth enamel is naturally composed. It is used in oral care because it can adhere to the tooth surface and helps support early remineralization.

Protection against acid and plaque

Xylitol helps to support an oral environment in which acid-producing bacteria grow less easily. Baking soda helps neutralize acids and remove plaque during brushing. This way, the formula not only cleanses but also supports your daily dental health.

Mild polishing action

Baking soda and bentonite clay help loosen superficial stains while brushing, making your teeth feel clean and smooth, without harsh bleaches or abrasive agents.

Carefully formulated with natural minerals and tooth-friendly ingredients. Rich in micro calcium hydroxyapatite, xylitol and gentle cleansers for clean, smooth and strong teeth.
Carefully formulated with natural minerals and tooth-friendly ingredients. Rich in micro calcium hydroxyapatite, xylitol and gentle cleansers for clean, smooth and strong teeth.

Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite

Sourced from powdered bones of grass-fed cows, hydroxyapatite is related to the mineral that naturally makes up most of tooth enamel. It is used in modern oral care because it helps support the tooth surface and contributes to tooth remineralization.

Xylitol (Birch Sugar)

Derived from Finnish birch trees. Xylitol helps to support an oral environment where acid-producing bacteria grow less easily. This contributes to daily protection against acids and plaque.

Baking Soda

Also known as sodium bicarbonate. Baking soda helps to neutralize acids in the mouth and aids in the removal of plaque during brushing due to its mild abrasive action, without damaging the teeth.

Bentonite Clay

A natural mineral clay with a fine powdered structure. Bentonite helps to loosen superficial deposits during brushing and contributes to a mild polishing effect. It also works well as a natural binding agent, holding the ingredients together in a paste.

Activated Charcoal Powder*

Optionally added for an extra deep clean feeling. Activated charcoal can bind unwanted substances, residues, and impurities and is often used to help remove superficial stains and discolorations.

Frequently asked questions

Is Remineralizing Toothpowder right for me?

Yes, especially if you are consciously looking for a natural, fluoride-free alternative to regular toothpaste, without a plastic tube, synthetic foaming agents, or unnecessary additives.

Our tooth powder is built around micro-calcium hydroxyapatite, a mineral closely related to the mineral that tooth enamel and dentin are largely composed of. Hydroxyapatite is used in modern oral care because it can bind to the tooth surface and help support remineralization. Research shows that hydroxyapatite toothpaste performs comparably to fluoride toothpaste in some studies for remineralization and cavity prevention.

This makes it interesting for people who want to avoid fluoride but do not want to switch to a tooth powder that is only "natural" without scientific substantiation.

In addition to hydroxyapatite, the tooth powder contains xylitol, baking soda, and bentonite clay. Xylitol helps to support an oral environment where acid-producing bacteria grow less easily. Baking soda helps neutralize acids and aids in the removal of plaque during brushing. Bentonite clay provides a gentle mineral clean and helps loosen superficial stains.

In short: this tooth powder is for people who want to brush more naturally, but with ingredients that are logically chosen for enamel, acid, plaque, and a clean tooth surface.

Is the Remineralizing Toothpowder safe for children or babies?

For children who are able to spit effectively, the tooth powder can be suitable under adult supervision. Use a small amount and ensure that the powder is not inhaled or swallowed.

We do not recommend this product for babies and very young children. Not because the ingredients are "harsh," but because a powder around the mouth is less practical for young children who cannot yet rinse and spit properly. For that age group, a product specifically developed for babies or toddlers is usually a better choice.

Is Remineralizing Tooth Powder safe during pregnancy?

Yes, in principle, the tooth powder can be used during pregnancy as a normal brushing product. The formula contains no fluoride, SLS, synthetic foaming agents, or artificial colors.

During pregnancy, gums can be more sensitive and bleed more easily. Therefore, use a soft toothbrush, brush without much pressure, and if you want to be extra careful with abrasive ingredients, choose the variant without activated charcoal.

Isn't xylitol synthetic?

Xylitol occurs naturally in small quantities in fruits, vegetables, and birch wood, among other things. For use in oral care, it is usually extracted from plant sources and purified. Our xylitol comes from Finnish birches.

It is therefore a processed ingredient, but not the same as an artificial sweetener like aspartame or sucralose. Xylitol is popular in oral care precisely because oral bacteria do not use it in the same way as regular sugar. Research shows that xylitol can help reduce Streptococcus mutans, a bacterium involved in plaque and cavities, in the mouth. [s]

In short: yes, xylitol is purified and processed, but our xylitol is of natural plant origin and chosen for its tooth-friendly properties.

Isn't activated charcoal too abrasive for teeth?

Activated charcoal is often portrayed as "abrasive", but that image is too simplistic.

The hardness of a substance is important. On the Mohs scale, tooth enamel has a hardness of approximately 5. Activated charcoal is usually rated around 2 to 3, depending on the source and form. This means that activated charcoal itself is significantly softer than tooth enamel, and therefore will not directly damage the enamel.

In addition, a 2022 study found that toothpastes with activated charcoal are no more abrasive than conventional toothpastes. [s]

That said, it does have an abrasive effect, which can be beneficial as it helps remove plaque and stains from teeth.

However, if you have sensitive teeth or gums, the version without activated charcoal might be a better choice.

Where does the mint flavor come from?

The mint flavour comes from organic peppermint essential oil. So, we don't use synthetic mint flavour or artificial aromas.

The mint oil is an optional addition for people who want the fresh feeling of classic toothpaste, but with a natural flavour source. If you prefer the purest possible formula, you can choose the variant without mint oil.

How long does the tooth powder last?

The toothpowder has a shelf life of approximately 6 months after the first time you open the jar.

This assumes you store the balm in a cool, dark, and dry place, with the lid on after use.

Light, oxygen, heat, and water can accelerate the degradation of the product.
